About Me
My name is Adam.
I am 28 years old and live in Edmonton, Alberta with my beautiful (Australian) wife. I grew up in B.C. and had previously been involved in missions work with YWAM for a number of years. I am currently a Bible college student at a Pentecostal college finishing up my last semester as a part time student. I have a reputation for being sarcastic, cynical, controversial and quite often right (can I say that about myself?).
I am opinionated enough to think that everyone wants to know my opinion. Thus the blog.
The title of my blog is Pillars are just Crutches. I chose that name for a couple reasons. Sometimes we have pillars in our lives – bigger than life things that seem to hold us up and keep us steady. We often worship them and praise them, but even though we think they are grand, all they are are crutches and will eventually collapse under the weight of our dependence of them.
The second reason I chose the title is because the word crutch has a negative connotation. Like: ‘Christianity is his crutch’. If I said, “Christianity is his pillar” it would mean virtually the same thing with a positive spin on it.
Pillars and Crutches have the same function and purpose, who cares if one is bigger than the other.
God can be my crutch anytime.
